Whole School Zoo Visit
What a great day we all had at Belfast Zoo on Monday. All staff, children and even a few parent volunteers filled two buses and set off on our annual school outing. The zoo provided every child with the chance to see their favourite animals, find out new facts about them and most of all have fun with their friends. Every class got an opportunity to take part in a workshop about habitats or minibeasts. The brave few were able to touch snakes, stick insects and hedgehogs. Thankfully the tarantula was kept safe in his clear box! Primary One and Two were very lucky to observe the chimpanzees being fed and took great enjoyment out of watching them peel their own bananas and race each other to get to the fruit first. We had a lovely lunch beside the lions and everyone arrived back to the bus with tired legs, ready for our journey home. All of the children behaved brilliantly and as always were a credit to our school. Thank you to all the volunteers who came along to help supervise the children. We couldn't do it without you.
