Week Three feedback for Primary One and Two

17th Apr 2020

Hello everyone,

I hope you have all had a lovely Easter and enjoyed all the wonderful weather we have had. I have had a lovely time gardening with my family, painting fences and gates and going for long walks. We also had great fun hunting for eggs around our garden which the Easter bunny had left. I would love to hear about any fun Easter activities you got up to. You might like to write about them in your news book and share your work on our website or to my email. Some of you may even have photos you would like to share. This would have made up a big part of our Monday morning news time if we had been at school.

Thank you to those children who shared their work last week. I hope all your lovely new flowers grow Hugh. This is a great activity to be doing outside and will hopefully be very rewarding to see the flowers and plants growing over the coming weeks.

I loved your Easter bunny Oisin and thank you for all the great ideas you had for our new topic 'Moving Things'. It would be really interesting to find out about how boats and wind turbines work.

Well done Eoghan on making such great use of the outdoors with your tadpole investigation and caring for a hedgehog. Thank-you for uploading your photographs directly onto our website, below our week three overview. This was really helpful and will hopefully give some other children great ideas.

I have noticed a great improvement in the number of children using Mathletics. I hope you are enjoying it and finding it useful to develop your mental maths skills. Particularly well done to Clodagh, Caoimhe, Oisin and Eoghan who have now achieved their first Bronze award. Keep up all the hard work everyone and if you haven't had a chance to try it out yet, maybe this will be the week to give it a go.

I will be uploading the plan for next week before Monday and I hope you all work hard and have fun with some of the activities. Hopefully lots of you have already got your thinking caps on about what kind of Eco Schools project you could be doing with your family. Maybe some of you have already started it. If you need a reminder about this, look back on Mrs McDaids post from last week. We are all looking forward to seeing what you can find out, or share about what you have been doing to promote our Eco Schools ethos.

Take care and stay safe,

Mrs McAuley
