Water Safety with the RNLI

28th Apr 2023

Luke and Michael from the RNLI lifeguards visited our school yesterday to tell the children all about how to keep safe in the water. They showed them the different flags they might see at a lifeguarded beach and explained what each of them meant. They now know how to identify a designated swimming area or what to do if they see the red flag to signify dangerous swimming conditions. They practised making starfish shapes while floating on their back so they would know what to do if they get into trouble in the water. They also found out what to do if they got caught in a riptide. Thank you to our two lifeguards for a very informative visit.
