Visit to the Mayor
This week the Primary 6 & 7 children were invited to visit the mayor in Coleraine to have their active travel success recognised.
They had been placed highly in the past number of years in 'The Big Pedal' with a ranking of 6th in Northern Ireland and 15th in the UK in the small schools section last year. A great achievement for our school.
They travelled with one of their Shared Education partner schools, St. Ciaran's, Cushendun, who have also performed well in the nationwide cycling event.
While they were in the council offices, the children visited the council chambers and had the opportunity to ask questions to the mayor, as well as visiting the mayor's parlour.
The children received a plaque to commemorate the day and enjoyed lots of tasty treats.
We would like to thank the mayor and her team for inviting us and for their hospitality - the children had a great day.
St. Patrick's Primary School will now continue on their journey towards the SusTrans Gold School Mark so remember to 'Walk, Cycle or Scoot to School' whenever possible.
