Ulster Finals
Following the success of winning the North Antrim and All County indoor competitions this year, our Primary 6 & 7 hurling team travelled to the Meadow Bank Arena in Magherafelt yesterday to represent Antrim and compete in the Ulster finals against the best teams from each of the other counties in Ulster.
The standard of hurling was exceptionally impressive, giving the boys the opportunity to further develop their talents against the best hurlers in the province.
The boys needed to show resilience and determination to win three of their games and draw another. They also narrowly lost two of their games to the eventual finalists including eventual winners Dernflaw from Dungiven, Derry.
Although it was a disappointing day for the boys in some respects, it was an excellent experience for them. Everyone at St Patrick’s is proud of each and everyone one of them and we look back with fond memories of a successful indoor season.
A special thank you to Philip Leech for driving the boys yesterday. It wouldn’t have been possible without him and it is greatly appreciated.
