Primary Three spent a very windy hour on Wednesday planting trees with Laura from Causeway Coast and Glens Heritage Trust. They planted bird cherry, wild cherry and blackthorn trees. The children looked closely at the different parts of the trees and were delighted to learn that witches make their broomsticks from the blackthorn tree. Primary Three worked really well digging most of the holes themselves and carefully placing the delicate roots into the soil before covering them, adding a bamboo cane and a tree protector.
