Shared Ed Fun in Cushendun for P1 and P2 🌞🍃
Primary One and Two had a fantastic fun filled day in Cushendun today as part of the Shared Education project. They were joined by their new friends from St. Ciaran’s and Bushvalley Primary school for their second day of friendship building and exploring. We met at Glenmona where Laurence from the National Trust introduced the children to the smells, textures and characteristics of the trees. They found out how to work out how old a tree is by counting the rings in the tree stump. We were then guided through the woods to complete a scavenger hunt for pine cones, feathers, stones, flowers, leaves and sticks. Laurence read the children a story about a a creature who didn’t like to look after our environment. The children worked in small groups to create beautiful masks with their findings from their scavenger hunt. We all moved to St. Ciaran’s playground to have a picnic out inside and play with all their amazing toys. The children loved their day and are really looking forward to inviting all their new friends to our school at the end of May. Hopefully the weather will be just as beautiful as we experienced today.
