Road Safety week

22nd Nov 2019

We finished our Road Safety week activities by welcoming two visitors from the PSNI who came in to talk to the children about how to keep safe on the roads, especially when out on a bicycle or as a pedestrian. We really appreciate them giving up their time to visit the school to deliver the Road Safety messages to our children.

The officers were very impressed by the children's knowledge and answers. They knew how to use the Green Cross Code when crossing a road and had great information to share about how to check our bikes and why it is important to wear reflective clothing, especially on dull or dark days.

They heard how it is important to wear a helmet every time you ride your bike, even on short journeys, and how important it is to wear a seatbelt for every car journey and booster seat if you are below 135cm in height.
