Pumpkins galore in Primary Two and Three
25th Oct 2024
Primary Two and Three spent Friday morning learning lots using pumpkins. The first thing they did, was to look at all the different pumpkins using our microscope and magnifying glasses. The most interesting part of the pumpkin was an area where it had gone soft and started to rot!
They then, compared the pumpkins weights against our weights from the maths store. Next, the children estimated the weight or the smallest pumpkin and used a pan balance to see how close their estimates were.
Lastly, once one of the pumpkins was cut open, the children used the microscope and magnifying glasses again and counted how many seeds were in the middle.
Happy Halloween!
