Melting Icebergs
14th Feb 2019
Primary Three and Four conducted a very interesting investigation into melting icebergs this week. Paint, sugar and salt were added to very large ice cubes to see which would melt first. They made excellent predictions about what they thought might happen. The children used a data logger to monitor the temperature of the water around the ice cubes throughout the day. Primary Three and Four made sure their test was a fair one by making ice cubes of the same size, putting the same amount of salt, paint and sugar on to the ice cubes and leaving them in the same place in the classroom.
