Primary One and Two have been very busy exploring lots of areas of Mathematics and Numeracy over the past few months. They have been investigating length using both standard and non-standard units and particularly enjoyed using the toy worms to explore ordering objects according to their length. Data handling has been introduced using pictograms and block graphs, and through play, the children chose to work either individually or with a partner to sort a random selection of objects and organise them so they could explain what they had found out. The children's understanding of number is being developed on a daily basis and they have been using cubes, Numicon, number fans and much more to support their learning.
