Jigsaws and other challenges

8th Apr 2020

Congratulations to Tamara Black on completing a 1,000 piece Travel jigsaw at home, what a fantastic achievement! I've loved seeing photos of the Black family helping with lambing, baking at home and keeping fit as well as lots of time given to Home Learning - Tamara has spent over an hour on Mathletics already since Monday!

Congratulations also to Maria who earned her Bronze Mathletics award at the end of last week. Ben, Erin, Christopher and Dan have all been working hard at Mathletics. You can also complete sections on Number, Multiplication and Division etc. We need to see if we can get everyone involved - which group will be first to get 100%? At the minute, Group C have 4 out of 6 logging in, Group B have only 1 out of 5 and Group A have no one so far this week! Maybe we could get your parents to award a DOJO for each day you work for at least 15 minutes and extra DOJOs for each Gold Bar or certificate earned? You could do the same for Literacy work and R.E./World Around Us. Anyone who gains 25 DOJOs in a week could choose to skip one activity from the Class Planner - and we can post up a photo of your best piece of work!

Finally, have you been working on the Maths Heralds? Issue 19 on Length - Page 1: 1 million metres divided by 1000 will tell you how far it is in Kilometres. Page 2: What's the Problem: divide 455miles by 65 to find out how long it took him. Then work backwards from when he arrived. On page 3, the moth eats through the books - How many covers are on each book, how many cm is that? Each book has 5cm of pages in it. How many full books and covers did it eat through? How many centimetres is that? How many DOJOs will you get for completing each challenge??? We can have a look at Issue 20 on Mass next week, but you can go ahead and get extra DOJOs if you make a head start. GOOD LUCK!!
