We continue to embed our new writing scheme in our school with this term’s focus being on instructional writing.
Yesterday’s lesson was a modelled lesson in which Mr Dinsmore demonstrated the writing process for instructions to make a fruit smoothie. The children supported Mr Dinsmore to ensure that he included all the necessary features for a piece of instructional writing, including using imperative verbs.
The children then assessed Mr Dinsmore’s piece of writing and gave him feedback before the best part of the lesson… tasting the delicious fruit smoothies!
