How many frogs in the pond?
Brian from Causeway Coast Heritage Trust visited on Tuesday morning to take pictures of the children using their new outdoor learning areas. He showed the children different flowers in the meadow and pointed out a White Tailed Bumble Bee. In the afternoon Primary Three went out to the pond again to investigate how many frogs and tadpoles they could catch. Primary Three are brilliant fishermen, they were very gentle and concerned about the welfare of the frogs and tadpoles. They swam so fast that to accurately count Primary Three transferred the frogs and tadpoles from one tray to another. The results were amazing, 32 altogether, 19 tadpoles and tadpoles with legs, 13 frogs and froglets. The children had to walk back into school very carefully since a couple of frogs escaped!
