First week back for Primary 1 - 3 and St. Patrick's Day celebrations
How lovely it has been to see - and hear - our Primary 1 - 3 children in school this week! The latest government guidance is that these children will now remain in class until the Easter holidays. At this stage, our information is that Primary 4-7 will not be returning to the classroom during this period but will continue with remote learning until after Easter. We will of course keep you informed should there be any further amendments to this.
For this incoming week, school will be closed to all students on Wednesday and Thursday. We know the children will be looking forward to a short week of learning and to celebrating St. Patrick’s Day on 17th March. We want to encourage everyone to take part in our traditional Dress up in Green day on Friday 19th, whether your children are in school or remote learning at home. We would love you to send in photos or videos of family walks, picnics, Ceilí or Irish dances or anything else you might be getting up to! You might even think of ideas to link this in with Trócaire fundraising – perhaps you could have a family movie day and put some money aside to send to Trócaire at the end of Lent. I’m sure you have lots more wonderful ideas!
This has also been the first week of ParentPay in school. I would like to thank all those parents who have activated their ParentPay accounts. As with any new system, we have had a few hiccups with it but it does seem to be working well now for our Primary 1 - 3 children in school, with no cash at all coming in for next week.
Could we ask you to please remember to credit or top up your ParentPay account regularly as we are hoping to move towards a completely cashless school from next week. Could you also ensure that you have assigned money within your account to each of your children’s Snacks or School Meals section or both as necessary. The money will then come off your balance and you will be able to keep a check on how much remains each day or week using your app. Some parents have found that although they have money in their account, it looks as if they owe money in either Snacks or Meals sections as these are separate areas within the account.
If you cannot find your ParentPay details, please email Mrs McCarry on rmccarry629@c2kni.net or phone the school.
On behalf of all the staff, I wish you all a very happy St. Patrick's Day - it will certainly be very different to previous years! Stay safe and take care.
Mrs R McCarry (rmccarry629@c2kni.net)
