Estimating Weight
29th May 2018
Primary 5 & 6 have been learning how to measure weight and trying out lots of activities where they have to estimate the weight of objects. This week we took a trip to Glenariff beach and the children were asked to find a pebble that they felt weighed approximately 1 Kilogram. We took our pebbles back to school and weighed them on the electronic scales. Cara Black came first place with a pebble that weighed 963g, Odhran Donnelly's pebble came second as it weighed 895g, Molly Magee's pebble weighed 1113g so she came third in the estimation competition. The children realised that estimating weight can be tricky and it takes lots of practice.
