Thank you to Louise who visited our class to help the children understand how doctors help us. The children really enjoyed investigating the various tools from her special doctor’s bag and were amazed to find out how many years it took to become a GP. Over the past few weeks, the children have been really inspired by all the medical professionals who visited our class from doctors, dentists and nurses. They were able to use the skills they found out about in the hospital role play area and were inspired to write some great facts about each job. They also enjoyed finding out about Florence Nightingale and were shocked to hear about how hospitals were so different in the past.
Our role play hospital has now been packed away and we are hoping to set up an ‘Emergency Services’ area and farm small world play. If there are any farmers or emergency services workers who are connected to our school and would like to inspire our Primary Ones and Twos, we would love to hear from you to welcome you into our classroom to find out how your job helps us.
