Cumann na mBunscol Skills Event
On Friday twelve of our children from Primary 5, 6 and 7 attended the Cumann na mBunscol skills event at Oisins CLG. They all were fantastic representatives of our school and displayed a high level of skill throughout the day.
Congratulations to Niall, who won the Primary 7 boys' section, competing against twelve other schools from North Antrim. A special mention to Caoimhe who was the runner-up in the Primary 6 girls' section.
Students from St Killian's College did a fantastic job managing each of the stations, enabling approximately one hundred and fifty children from over North Antrim to demonstrate their skills. The students from St Killian's, many former pupils of our school, displayed impressive leadership skills and we greatly appreciate them volunteering their time to support the development of Gaelic games.
Some of our own children also did a great job ensuring that all the scores were inputted onto the computer spreadsheet. Well done to them.
Thank you to Fern Major and the other volunteers from the Glenariff Community and Recreation Centre who provided refreshments throughout the day for the adults in attendance. These were warmly welcomed, particularly with the challenging weather conditions.
Finally, thank you to Oisins CLG for offering the use of their venue for the event. Arguably, there isn't a better setting in the country to enjoy Gaelic games.
