Christmas Wishes

22nd Dec 2021

Dear parents/guardians,

At the end of what has been a very challenging but successful first term, I would like to express my sincerest thanks to the entire St Patrick's Primary School community.

Our pupils, as well as teaching and non-teaching staff, have been in school since the beginning of September and they will all be looking forward to a very well-deserved break.

There has been a greater sense of normality this year, despite the ongoing protocols and mitigations to ensure everyone's safety. Pupils have adapted admirably to changes and they continue to demonstrate an awareness of the importance of regular handwashing, social distancing etc.

I would like to acknowledge the dedication and commitment of our staff in ensuring our children can continue learning in a safe and welcoming environment. They have shown great creativity and ingenuity in responding to the various challenges we have faced together.

Also, it is important to recognise your support as parents, particularly when it has been necessary to get your child tested. I recognise that this is not an ideal scenario, however, I can ensure you that every decision is taken with the utmost consideration. As a staff, we are making every effort to ensure your child can continue to learn and develop friendships in school, but there is a need to prioritise the safety of the wider school community.

We will continue to follow Department of Education and Health guidance, designed to prevent the spread of the virus. We will continue to make you aware of new guidance, as it becomes available.

Lastly, and most importantly, I would like to wish yourselves, your families, and our entire school community a very Happy and Holy Christmas. I look forward to welcoming pupils back to our school on Thursday 6th January, 2022.

Best wishes,

Mark Dinsmore

Acting Principal
