Christmas Tree Switch On & Christmas Charity Raffle
This week saw the traditional switch on of the Christmas Tree lights in school, with each "Bubble" taking their turn to gather in the Assembly Hall. There was great excitement as the eldest and youngest of each Bubble had the honour of switching on the lights following a countdown from all the children.
At each assembly we also announced the opening of the Staff Annual Christmas Charity Raffle. Every year the teaching and non-teaching staff pool money to buy boy and girl prizes for each year group and the children are then invited to buy tickets ahead of the grand draw in the last week of term.
This year, our chosen charity is St. Vincent de Paul. We feel that there are so many families in the local area who are struggling this year particularly with furloughing and job losses, so we are really hoping that our Charity Raffle will go some way to alleviating some of the difficulties they are facing. We always appreciate your support in this and have encouraged the children to try to help out more at home to earn their 50p ticket money. Hopefully you will all benefit from tidier bedrooms and help with the dishes!
Finally we celebrated those children - and Mr Dinsmore - who had birthdays this week, singing a very enthusiastic "Happy Birthday" to them. Many happy returns to them all.
