Beach Clean
Primary Three and Primary Six spent Friday morning at the beach. They worked together lifting litter and rubbish for around an hour. They were delighted to spend time outside helping to clean the sea and protect the sealife and birds around the coast. The plan was to lift litter on the beach but the clean-up actually began on the path down to the beach because there was so much litter lying on the grass. The strangest thing found was a surround for a car windscreen. The rubbish collected weighed a total of twelve kilograms. Anything which could be recycled was placed in our blue bins back at school.
Our school has adopted the beach through the Adopt a Spot scheme and this work is very important because of our Eco Schools Green flag status.
