Anti-Bullying Week Advice for Parents
The theme for Anti-Bullying Week this year is "Make a Noise about Bullying". Our whole school has been exploring how we can prevent or deal with bullying behaviour should it arise. We have been using circle time, stories, online workshops, poetry, games and many more resources to make this important topic as engaging for the children as possible. The children have been identifying what bullying behaviour is and what are the acceptable, kind behaviours we promote in our school. They have also been identifying their trusted adults in case they need to talk to someone about behaviour they have experienced or witnessed. As always all the children are reminded that all the staff are here to support them and in particular the Designated Child Protection Officer (Miss McQuillan) and Deputy Designated Child Protection Officers (Mrs McAuley), if they need to speak to someone. To support parents and carers with this area, the Safer Schools NI App have a very detailed section which includes advice on what to do if your child is being bullied and useful resources regarding online platforms, such as Tik Tok. All parents can download this app to their digital device or access it online. Below is a link to the section relevant to Anti-Bullying Week.

As always, our school website also has a dedicated section for Safeguarding under the Parents Area which includes links to our school's Safeguarding information and policies.
