P.4 & 5 News Update

15th May 2020

Max sent in lots of pictures this week showing his recent home learning work. He made a brilliant aeroplane out of junk materials and drew a detailed picture of a crab. He also spent time researching facts about rockpool creatures and created a poem about his thoughts on summertime which included some rhyme. Well done Max!

Ryan and Brona made a beautiful May altar at home and used bluebells to decorate the picture and statue of Our Lady. They have also placed Rosary beads, Holy water and a Blessed candle on the altar, special symbols arranged on May altars all over Ireland and the world.

Niall is enjoying the rockpool topic and has created a rockpool landscape complete with colourful anemones and seaweed and real shells. I like how he has used both pipe cleaners and cardboard strips to make different types of sea anemones. This must have taken considerable time and effort. Great job!

Ciaran sent us some photographs of Celtic crosses in Layde Graveyard in Cushendall  which linked into our R.E work on Early Christian Ireland. The tallest cross dates from 1798 and has beautifully detailed carvings. Thanks for sharing your research Ciaran.

Ava produced a road safety poster connected to her work on The Hodgeheg with the important message- stop, look, listen before crossing the road. Well done!
